Give the selection
Tap the thing to cut out: a bird, a boat, a leaf. If it is inside your Magic selection, its exact shape is used; if not, a circle the size of your brush.
Drag the path from the thing to where it should go.
Tap the joint it turns from: a shoulder, a neck, the base of a branch.
Paint the part that swings. It turns orange, and starts swinging right away.
With a stylus or Apple Pencil, pressing harder paints stronger.

Soundscapefor listening visitors
Everything is generated live: wind, water, rain, crickets and chimes, placed left and right so you can hear where things are.
Motion soundshear what moves where
Each sound sits left or right where the movement is. In Try mode, the movement under your finger gets louder.
Paints itself
The painting appears stroke by stroke from a blank canvas, the way it could when a visitor first finds it.
Timelineseconds from the start
Drag a block to change when it starts, or select it and use the arrow keys. Orange blocks are layers; blue blocks are your narration lines. Press Play as a story to watch it run.
Scenes over timeblends from one to the next
A scene is a look: colour mood, atmosphere, weather, sound and how much movement. Set the painting up the way you want, then add it as a scene. Add a few, and the painting changes from one to the next.
Narrationaudio description in time
Short lines that are spoken and shown as captions at their time (in seconds), so the description plays along with the animation.
Tap to triggerpick the Trigger tool, then tap
Record right here, or upload a file. Then tap a spot with the Trigger tool. In Try mode, tapping the spot plays it.
Automatic description
Written from your layers as you work. Visitors hear it in the AR viewer, and you can check your painting by ear.

Make without sightkeyboard
Put focus on the painting. Arrow keys move a cursor and say the colour under it. Enter applies the current tool there (a glow, an eye, a joint, a trigger or a dab of any brush). Shift with an arrow paints Flow in that direction. Ctrl+Z undoes.

Tactile versionto feel with your hands
Turn the painting into something to touch. Print the raised-line drawing on swell paper (capsule paper) and run it through a fuser, or send it to a braille embosser. Use the relief height map to 3D-print the painting as a raised relief, or to cut it on a CNC machine.
Video or GIF for sharingsocial posts
The end blends into the start, so it loops forever without a jump. Turn the sound on first to include it in the video.
Try it in ARpreview
See it the way a visitor will: a phone pointed at the painting on the wall, and the painting comes alive on the screen. Putting it on the real painting comes with the creator portal.

Versions
Art Alive Creator Studio, preview: our own animator, running free in the browser with nothing uploaded anywhere. Recipes get first-time artists moving in one tap; the full studio adds Magic select, path movers, emitters, a moving light, scenes, narration, a tactile version to feel, social exports and a gallery preview. In the creator portal it would save the result onto the painting in the AR viewer.
